Legacy Jiu Jitsu

MY STORY

Jiu-Jitsu has always been a part of my life. As a youth, I won an IBJJF Juvenile world title and at that moment knew I wanted to pursue Jiu-Jitsu as a career. I spent the next decade traveling the world from Dubai to Asia on the quest to become the best I could be. Along the way, I earned my bachelor’s degree but never stopped working at my craft.

All tournament experiences, some great, some not so great, were learning lessons for me. From the time we ran our first NorCal Legacy championship over a decade ago until now, my love for Jiu-Jitsu has stayed the same but my knowledge has exponentially increased. As my competition career is winding down, its time to focus once again on what I love. I am excited for the future and to reintroduce Legacy Jiu-Jitsu Championship to the world!

Legacy Jiu Jitsu

MY STORY

2009
Legacy Jiu Jitsu Championship is formed. We organized our first tournament in Alameida, California aptly named NorCal Legacy. A few months later we hold our second tournament, both doing exceptionally well. My family and I had to make a hard choice at this time. Do we continue to host tournaments or do I focus on being a competitor? After a long talk with my family, my team and my mentors we decided to put Legacy on hold.
2009
2021

I've known Kaniela and Rob for over a decade. They are two of the most committed people I know. I was going to compete in 2009 in NorCal Legacy but the opportunity fell through, I'm excited that now, my students have an opportunity I look forward to having them compete.

Kaniela is one of my main training partners and has contributed to my success. I am so happy he is taking his years of experience as a competitor and bringing that to the management team at Legacy Jiu-Jitsu Championships. For competitors by competitors, I'm sure every event is going to be amazing!
